Our heritage
A solid, local foundation on which to grow
CIS was established in 2014 when The Bendigo and Adelaide Bank Ltd (BABL) acquired Doug Clifford Insurance Agencies, a highly respected business of over 30 years in Victoria’s Wimmera region.
Following BABL’s acquisition, CIS became a Corporate Authorised Representative of CBN. Over the next seven years, CIS saw significant growth, providing quality, personalised insurance solutions to the bank’s customers across Australia.
In 2021, BABL decided to divest CIS, making CBN the sole owner following an acquisition.

As an existing Authorised Representative of CBN, the transition was seamless.
Committed to growth and strengthening our business footprint across Victoria, CIS acquired Spencer Thomas and Partners Pty Ltd in 2022, a long standing and highly successful insurance brokerage based in Hamilton.
We’re proud that CIS remains a valued referral partner of BABL, and our clients continue to receive the same outstanding service, specialist advice and quality insurance solutions from brokers in the heart of their local communities.
